I am not sure why, maybe it is because when I was 9 years old it was the WORST holiday of my life, but since then July 4th had become my favorite celebration. No presents to buy. Things explode. Alcohol is in abundance. The weather is great. People are in good spirits. Usually you spent it with friends rather than family (just sayin). It is MY holiday. This year was made significant by the addition of one of my closest and oldest friends to my neighborhood. A part of me feel completed. (love you Brigitte).
