Valentines Day Ribbon Wreath

I have been getting crafty lately so I thought I would share what I have been up to.

Supplies:

a bunch of ribbon
scissors
craft wire
needle nose pliers
needle
brad

I bought craft wire at Jo Anns
I took my pliers from my scrapbooking tool kit that I bought at Archivers and used it to bend the craft wire into a heart shape.
Not too big but not too small either.
I cut up a bunch of coordinating colored ribbon about 3 inches long
I started at the bottom of the heart and while watching a movie I tied them onto the wire.
Once finished I tied one long piece of ribbon to the middle of the heart so it could be hung from a door hanger.
I looped it around and used a heart shaped brad to secure it in place.
I trimmed to make sure all the ribbon looked even.

Happy Valentines Day!

A Vintage Suitcase Makeover

So I was visiting my mother-in-law a while back. She lives in an active Senior Living facility in Decatur. Anyway, on my way out the door I passed by this awesome vintage suitcase by the trash. The inside was hideous. But I ripped out the inside, aired it out and bought some gold fabric and decided it would make a great prop!

First you need GOOD scissors, fabric and a hot glue gun (I don't sew)
I started with the top. I glued one inside edge and folded the fabric down for a clean edge and pressed it into place
I smoothed out the fabric and repeated on the sides and the on the bottom edge
I did the bottom the same way, folding the edges and gluing them in as best as I could
the final product
I did not make it perfect as I am going to mainly use it for newborns and it will be filled with blankets and pillows so I did not need it to be perfect
