So I have always admired this building for some reason. Today I snapped this pic of it since I won't really pass by it anymore. It's right next to my Dr.'s office and he is moving on to his next adventure in life and no longer practicing. He delivered my boy and to be honest, he's the coolest Dr. I've ever met. I wish him the best of adventures and luck in New Zealand! Also my " picture a day " or "365" project is iPhone only. I will be posting more of my other work soon. Needed a creative break but business is about to be full speed ahead again. Hope you are enjoying the pieces of me I have been sharing from my everyday adventures.

Day of the Dead 2011

Day of the Dead Día de Muertos is a holiday celebrated throughout Mexico and around the world in many cultures. The holiday focuses on gatherings of family and friends to pray for and remember friends and family members who have died. It is particularly celebrated in Mexico, where it attains the quality of a National Holiday, and all banks are closed. The celebration takes place on November 1–2, in connection with the Catholic holidays of All Saints' Day (November 1) and All Souls' Day (November 2). Traditions connected with the holiday include building private altars honoring the deceased using sugar skulls, marigolds, and the favorite foods and beverages of the departed and visiting graves with these as gifts.

My favorite time of year is nearing end.

It is sad when Halloween is over and October is but a memory.

I feel I missed some traditions this year but I managed to fit in a few things I have been wanting to do that I usually don't get to.

Visited Netherworld (was awesome).

I finally made it to the Little 5 points Halloween festival and thanks to the Rome Rollergirls I got to ride on a float too!

I did not get to go to a pumpkin patch or even carve a pumpkin.

We did paint the small pumpkin Brody got from his class field trip to the pumpkin patch.

I still have not visited AZA as planned.

And sadly only a very short hike was made so far this fall.

I did make pumpkin soup for the first time.

I did get to spend time with close friends.

I did attend my annual Halloween Bash.

I just wish October had 8 weekends in it.

New Art, New Exhibit, Flux 2011

On Friday, September 30, FLUX 2011 will take place in Castleberry Hill. You’ve got one shot to see it: The event runs from 8:00 p.m.-midnight, and you never know what you’ll encounter during FLUX.

The one-night public-art event will take over the streets & empty spaces of the Castleberry Hill Art District with projections, dance, theatre, music, multimedia, sound and light installations, parades, puppetry, and iron pours.
The evening starts with a lantern parade at 8:00 p.m. and concludes with the midnight grand finale of iron fireworks at the Elliot Street Pub, leaving ample time to check out the rest of the exhibitions in between.
I will be exhibiting 3 Framed Pieces in the Granite Room and also will have a bin of affordable matted prints ($5-$20) at Big House Gallery at 211 Peters St.
This is also where the start of the lantern parade is.
I would really love for you to come out to this fabulous part of town and fall in love with it like I have.

You can get to FLUX 2011 on bike or foot or via MARTA or car

You’ll find FLUX 2011 on Walker Street, Peters Street and adjacent areas.

Marc Turnley and Jason Vanhoy are the best people to learn from, hang out with and just be around period. Thanks guys for never disappointing!

Way back in time there was this band ...they were a trash band.

They had quite the following

The had the best seedy Jam Room ever

They also had the best Basement to practice in ever also

They put on a hell of a show and they played original music

They were once called Cyanide but were forced to change their name due to copyright conflicts.

They are all good friends of mine and represent some of the best years of my life

They are back and better than ever and when their release their CD you should buy it!

It cleared up just a few hours before our scheduled session.

It was hot and humid.

His poor Daddy slipped in the creek and tore his toenail clean off.

Had an amazing time being photographed by my best friend at this farm in Rutledge Ga.

I did not have engagement pictures or professional wedding pictures done when Shane and I got married. I have taken many of those types of shoots but have never liked being in front of the camera for them myself. Since my BFF was unavailable to come to my solstice wedding originally (it was a Monday, very small, and we left for a 9 day trip to Hawaii instead of having a big wedding) I put back on my dress and she shot the pictures I have always wanted with the man I love 7 years later.

I had a great time. That got me to thinking...I bet a lot of married people feel like me. Wish they had more pictures, better pictures, any pictures, fun pictures without all the stress of the actual wedding day. If you do you should let me know, Brigitte and I would love to do your Trash the dress shoot also!
